Smoked Daniels, Bacon Bloody Mary BBQ Sauce

Ingrediants

  • 1 cup Bloody Mary (smoked bacon )mix

  • 1/2 cup of jack Daniels whiskey

  • 5 slices thick-cut smoked bacon

  • 2 tbsp bacon fat (from cooking bacon)

  • ½ cup ketchup

  • 2 tbsp tomato paste

  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar

  • 3 tbsp brown sugar or maple syrup

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

  • ½ tsp chipotle powder (or cayenne to taste)

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp onion powder

  • Fresh cracked black pepper

  • In a saucepan over medium heat, add bacon fat.

  • Stir in tomato paste and cook 1 minute to caramelize.(sometimes I put finely chopped sweet  Vidalia onions)

  • Add ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire, vinegar, and Bloody Mary mix.

  • Season & Simmer(longer for thicker)

  • Add brown sugar, smoked paprika, chipotle powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.

  • Simmer uncovered 20–30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thick.

  • Brush on ribs during last 15 minutes

Great on chicken too!
